Geophone Display & Logger

Geophone Display & Logger

Geophone Display & Logger
This is a basic geophone display and data logger. The geophone signal is amplified and then buffered at high speed into PSRAM. When the PSRAM fills up or data collection is stopped manually it's written to the SD card. File names on the SD card are a timestamp from power on. Data can be collected continuously and will appear as a series of files. The data consists of two values per line; the raw geophone signal and a smoothed value, separated by a comma.

Arduino ESP32 Codegeophone_esp32.ino
Arduino ATmega Codegeophone_atmega.ino

Operation

  1. Insert SD card (optional)
  2. Power On
  3. Set desired sampling speed
  4. Press Start - the REC LED should illuminate (requires SD card)
  5. Let it collect data
  6. Press Stop
  7. Repeat
  8. Power Off
  9. Remove SD card

Data is buffered in ESP32 PSRAM and when it fills up it's written to a CSV data file. The file name is based on the time from power on. The toggle switch may be left in the Start position to log data continuously, to multiple files.
